Who are we?
Pestalozzi International Village Trust is a small educational charity based in Sedlescombe, East Sussex, England. We are unique in that we are the only charity to sponsor economically disadvantaged young people from Africa and Asia to come and study the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. We also run an outreach education programme for East Sussex schools, community groups and organisations.

How do we select?
We personally select scholars between the ages of 16 - 19 years, currently from the following countries: India, Zambia, Tibet, Nepal and Zimbabwe.

Selection criteria - scholars must:

  • Show a strong commitment to their community and country
  • Come from a economically disadvantaged background
  • Have a high academic ability

Lving at Pestalozzi The Pestalozzi International Village is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on a site consisting of 170 acres. Scholars stay at the Village, living together as a family, supporting each other and supported by dedicated staff. Our scholars learn about and share each others religions and cultures breaking down any prejudices or misunderstandings. We work in partnership with Sussex Coast College, Hastings - who deliver the IB programme. The scholars study at the College for two years.
