A bright new website for Pestalozzi
1 October 2012.
Pestalozzi is pleased to launch a dynamic new website this week.
A wealth of information about the charity’s aims, students, activities, alumni and history is now available for visitors to browse. The bright, clear aesthetic of the new site means that information is easy to find. "People are often curious about what Pestalozzi is, what we do and why,” says marketing officer Jonathan Williams. "The new website means the answers to those questions are only a click away.”
Pestalozzi Chief Executive Sue Walton notes that the site’s design and content is the result of extensive community consultation. "We sought input from a range of individuals and organisations to find out what people want to know about Pestalozzi. We hope we’ve got it right, but if anyone has a question not answered on the website, I encourage them to get in touch.”
Pestalozzi’s unique two year scholarship programme offers exceptional young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in developing countries the chance to continue their education. Pestalozzi students live in the multi-cultural, multi-faith Village in Sedlescombe and study for their International Baccalaureate diploma at Sussex Coast College in Hastings. Alumni go on to make a real difference in their home communities and beyond, studying at internationally renowned universities and pursuing careers as teachers, doctors, aid workers, engineers and researchers.
The new Pestalozzi website, created with Hastings business FAT promotions, illustrates Pestalozzi’s engagement with local communities. It highlights the broad variety of activities undertaken by students during their stay in East Sussex, from volunteering in local care homes to running marathons, culture-sharing in local schools and performing at festivals. Managing Director of FAT promotions Fiona Allman-Treen adds, "A website is often the first place people look to learn more about an organisation, so we were delighted to work with the team at Pestalozzi and help them showcase the great work the charity does.”
