Pestalozzi’s forthcoming Zambian Cultural Evening is to receive a boost from the Zambian High Commission, which will provide authentic Zambian snacks for the event.

Pestalozzi’s cultural events have been a big hit with local audiences over the last two years, as they offer a night out for the whole family, including entertainment, informative presentations and delicious international food. The charity’s five Zambian students are looking forward to hosting their own Zambian Cultural Evening on Thursday 10 April.

Pestalozzi’s hospitality team is working with the Zambian students to create a main meal, including Tongabezi chicken curry, pineapple and peanut stew and the Zambian grain staple nshima. The Zambian High Commission will provide a range of delicious snacks, including chikanda (a vegetarian ‘meatloaf’) and Zambian doughnuts.

"We’re delighted to have the Zambian High Commission supporting us for this event," said Pestalozzi’s Student Programme Manager, Mags Alexander. "It shows the interest they have in our Zambian students, as well as demonstrating that Pestalozzi truly is international in scope. I highly recommend trying the fried sweet potato!"

The Zambian Cultural Evening will be held at Pestalozzi in Sedlescombe (TN33 0UF), from 6:30pm on Thursday 10 April. Entry is £5 or £2 for under-12s and includes dinner, with additional snacks available for a donation. Guests are advised to RSVP to 01424 870444 or
