Part Time Cook

This would suit an enthusiastic person who would be working as part of a small friendly team, preparing evening meals and weekend lunches for our international students (aged 16-19).

Accountable to: Chief Operations Officer
Purpose of post: To cook meals for Pestalozzi Students, volunteers, visitors and staff.
Contract: Temporary contract to cover maternity leave, 16 hours per week as per seven day rota, 4 days in 7, including weekends.
Remuneration: £9.51 per hour
Benefits: Auto-enrolment workplace pension scheme available for eligible employees

Main Tasks
To liaise with the Chief Operations Officer in relation to catering matters.

To work as part of a team preparing and cooking meals for students, volunteers, visitors and staff, at specific meal times.

To ensure that all working, food handling areas and equipment are cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedules, infection control policy and statutory regulations as directed by the Chief Operations Officer: this is also includes the dining area which is to be maintained to a high standard.

To maintain all paperwork relevant to the position of Cook. (HACCP)

To demonstrate respect for, and help maintain , cultural values within Pestalozzi Village, particularly in relation to preparation, content and serving of food.

To ensure that the Pestalozzi Health and Safety Policy and Procedures of the Village are adhered to and that correct practices for food hygiene are implemented at all times.

To carry out any other duties relevant to the post. This will include regular cleaning and upkeep of the kitchen and dining room areas.

N.B. Attending training, appraisal and staff meetings is a mandatory responsibility for every post holder.
