Student blog: Nepali New Year Celebrations
By Jennipher Musa
This week had been very exciting with exciting events. The Nepali students were celebrating their new year with a great meal and we all joined them in this celebration.
Ever heard of the famous Charles Darwin? He was a great scientist and a motivator for many upcoming Scientists especially the Pestalozzi Students. Fortunately, we were given the honour of visiting ‘Down House’, which was where the great Charles Darwin lived and did some of his experiments. This was yet another day never to be forgotten.
Not only are Pestalozzi Students interested in Sciences but also in Ballet dances. Some Pestalozzi students travelled to London to see the final rehearsal of a professional ballet performance at the Royal Opera Theatre. This was the first time for most of us to see to attend a live rehearsal, it was such an amazing experience.
One of our members of the care stuff, Judy, owns quiet a huge farm and invited some students to see her farm and how it is ran. This was important as Agriculture is growing, becoming a very important sector in each country’s economy. I am sure the students that went to the farm had a great experience and learnt a lot about Agriculture.
Most of the second years have now received their University admissions except for a few who will also soon be admitted - we all have our fingers crossed! First year students have now started thinking about University applications and work experience including volunteering.
Some students had gone to visit their host parents and I am sure all the Students had a relaxing half term break-but with homework! Finally the break has come to an end. It’s time to go back to college.
All the best in this new term to all Pestalozzi Students!!! We all hope to keep up with the hard work and become closer to our goals.
