Earthquake in Nepal

27 April 2015

On Saturday, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal. Aftershocks have continued through the weekend. Thousands of people in Nepal, as well as many in Tibet and India, have died in this tragedy.

Our thoughts are with those of our Pestalozzi family and wider networks (including students, alumni, staff, volunteers, partner organisations, friends and supporters) who are from Nepal and other affected areas, as well as those who have forged many connections there over the years.

Staff at Pestalozzi have been in contact with our recent Nepali graduates, who are safe but obviously very upset by the disaster. We would welcome any contact from older alumni and friends in Nepal when you are able.

Pestalozzi students are organising a collection to go towards the disaster relief fund. Please check our social media accounts in the near future for more information about this. In the meantime, you may wish to donate directly to MSF NepalOxfam, UNICEF or Himalayan Trust UK.

Inspiring young people to make a difference in the world.
