We offer life-changing opportunities to exceptional young people from disadvantaged communities around the world. Pestalozzi scholarships give our students an opportunity they would not otherwise receive – the chance to develop their potential, pursue their dreams and go on to make a real and lasting difference in the world. Join us and be part of their story!

Host families

Do you enjoy meeting young people and have an interest in other cultures? Could you offer one or two students a few invitations a year to your home or for a day out?

Host parent Beryl Bartter says: "We started hosting Pestalozzi students in 2005 and haven’t looked back since. The pleasure such a little effort makes to our lives is inestimable."

Academic support volunteers

Pestalozzi students are provided with academic support by a wonderful team of staff and volunteers. Academic support volunteers tutor students in the subjects they study at Sussex Coast College Hastings, providing them with the support they need to reach their full potential. We are currently looking for volunteers for the following subjects, please click on the subject below to see the full advertisment:

If you would like more information or would like to discuss opportunities to use your teaching or tutoring skills to support our students please email Fay Fellows on fay.fellows@pestalozzi.org.uk.

Extra curricular support volunteers

Pestalozzi students are very grateful for the extra-curricular opportunities provided by our fantastic team of volunteers. These volunteers include language tutors, music and art teachers, sports coaches and more. We are currently looking for:

  • A t'ai chi or Qigong practitioner, to lead our students in weekly sessions
  • A volunteer piano tutor, for a small number of students

Could you get involved and help give our students a real head, heart and hands experience? Please email Fay Fellows on fay.fellows@pestalozzi.org.uk.

Events Volunteers

Love events? Love to help? We are looking to create a collection of more casual volunteers that would be interested in helping out at Pestalozzi events and other shenanigans. There’s no minimum or maximum amount of time to give and no specific skills required. Call us up for a chat and let us know what you’re interested in doing. We need all kinds of supporters, from flyer distributors right through to face-painters and fundrasiers! If you're interested please contact Marketing Officer, Hannah Nice, on 01424 871901 or hannah.nice@pestalozzi.org.uk.

European Voluntary Service

Pestalozzi has been very fortunate to have had a number of EVS volunteers living on site over the past few years. To read more about the programme and hear from the volunteers themselves, click here.

Friends of Pestalozzi

We are very grateful to our Friends of Pestalozzi groups for their many years of hard work and commitment to our cause. There are currently Friends Groups in Lewes, East Sussex and on the Isle of Man. These groups run events in their local communities from carol concerts to dinner parties in aid of Pestalozzi. Read more about their amazing work!

More about our volunteers
