The role in brief
•Accountable to: The Student Programme Administrator
•Purpose of post: To be responsible for transporting students, staff and goods safely, maintaining records relating to journeys and ensuring vehicle cleanliness
•Contract: As required, with the flexibility to cover early mornings, later afternoons, evenings, weekends, local runs and occasionally airport and other long distance pick-ups and drop-offs. It will include working some Bank Holidays.
•Hourly rate: Pestalozzi is proud to be a Living Wage employer. This role pays £8.75 per hour gross.

•Undertaking delivery of Pestalozzi’s transport needs for local and long distance journeys by people carrier (11-seater) or minibus (16-seater) as required, predominantly daily school runs as well as during weekends and evenings.
•Ensuring that the vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy in line with Pestalozzi policy.
•Following our Health and Safety Policy, ensuring that the safety of students and staff is maintained at all times. This will include reporting vehicle faults and incidents to the Student Programme Administrator as well as checking the First Aid stocks in each vehicle and attending appropriate training.
•Ensuring that Pestalozzi’s No Smoking policy is adhered to inside and outside the vehicle.
•Taking an active interest in the students’ activities and providing support, as able, but reporting difficulties experienced with students to the appropriate member of the Student Programme Team.
•Willingness to undertake relevant training and staff meetings as required (duties allowing).
•Demonstrating respect for the student groups and helping to maintain cultural values within the Pestalozzi International Village.
Full, clean driving license with PCV Large Vehicle Theory and Practical Qualification (D1)
Encouraging groups of young people to accept responsibility (e.g. vehicle cleanliness & vehicle safety)
